Although, they are not cheaper than LiPos here for the ready made packs. They say 440 grams for a 6s 4500mah pack! The Opti 4300s I have are 591grams :-o Even the lightest 4000s I have are around 550g. My question is, what happens if you accidentally push them too hard, how much does the voltage sag, etc. Also, how well do they tolerate staying at full charge for a few days compared to LiPos? (sometimes with the unpredictable weather here, it can be tedious charging packs and then having to discharge them when the weather goes sour). Being able to run down to 2.5 volts allows a large margin for error, but you'd probably fall below the governor's ability to hold the headspeed. Still, a useful thing having that room to play with. My TDSF runs on 5s and very low amps. So I'm thinking a 5s 2p pack would be under 800 grams, it would be plenty of power, and it would be a whopping 9000mah! The potential flight time might be crazy. gorn, windwizard and wab223 like this. __________________ Last edited by trillian; 06-01-2024 at 11:50 AM.. |

The Control line stunt guys have been using them for flight packs for a number of years, now that higher discharge rate packs have been released. I have been thinking of building some 12s packs for my Flash, I think seeing Luvmyhelis post has pushed me over the edge. __________________ |
