What’s on the bench? - Page 28 (7)

It's definitely interesting! There are ready made Molicel packs out there. Although, they are not cheaper than LiPos here for the ready made packs. They say 440 grams for a 6s 4500mah pack! The Opti 4300s I have are 591grams :-o Even the lightest 4000s I have are around 550g.

My question is, what happens if you accidentally push them too hard, how much does the voltage sag, etc.

Also, how well do they tolerate staying at full charge for a few days compared to LiPos? (sometimes with the unpredictable weather here, it can be tedious charging packs and then having to discharge them when the weather goes sour).

Being able to run down to 2.5 volts allows a large margin for error, but you'd probably fall below the governor's ability to hold the headspeed. Still, a useful thing having that room to play with.

My TDSF runs on 5s and very low amps. So I'm thinking a 5s 2p pack would be under 800 grams, it would be plenty of power, and it would be a whopping 9000mah! The potential flight time might be crazy.

Video would be nice, explaining to a numpty like me the technology and benefits.

Is there a down side to these batteries?

You could run2 of these for lightweight RX packs on a nitro or gas heli.

Wow What’s on the bench? - Page 28 (17)

They have been being used for years as receiver packs. Company's like Fromeco have had then out for many years. This is what has been in JR radios for transmitter packs for the last 8 plus years, my new NX10Se and my V Control Evo have them in the transmitter also. The Control line stunt guys have been using them for flight packs for a number of years, now that higher discharge rate packs have been released. I have been thinking of building some 12s packs for my Flash, I think seeing Luvmyhelis post has pushed me over the edge. What’s on the bench? - Page 28 (18)

Ah Fromeco, that's a blast from the past!

Make that 12s pack!!
Then come back and let us know what you think, and how difficult was it to spot weld the tabs.

Sounds like a damned good plan What’s on the bench? - Page 28 (37)

I cant understand how anyone can have fun with a 3 minute flight these days.
Especially for the cost of 12 lipo's.

Not on the bench, but on the cart. Great day with getting 6 flights on the Nimbus and 6 on the Flash. What’s on the bench? - Page 28 (47)

Maybe the most expensive(or dumbest) M2.

I've been trying to convert my Logo 200 to an OMP M2, or rather more change so I can use my TX16s for all my models.

I thought it be a simple swap to the OMP all-in-one unit, but unfortunately the Logo 200 servos use different connectors than a true OMP M2.

Today I received some short adapters that worked, and got the all-in-one mounted and tested to my TX16s.

Channel 6 is causing the motor to spin up even when TH/Throttle is -100 so need to figure that out tomorrow before I try flying it.

If I hate it, i'll convert back to a vbar/Logo 200 and sell which is why I didnt' replate the ends on the servos. If I like it, i'll clean up the servo solution and keep it. -- Not sure if there is a market for selling the vbar mini that the Logo 200 came with stand alone?

The smart financial decision of been to just sell it as a Logo 200 and buy an M2 if that is what I wanted. But I don't enjoy selling things, hence this path.
