The award is given annually to a secretary for work experience, education, appearance and poise, human relations and involvement in community activities.

Andrews was given the award by Charles Misch, 1977 Secretary of the Year. The Blue Water Chapter also held a seminar Saturday at St. Clair County Community College for secretaries and secretarial students.
